The Solution To Quick Bedding Changes

Then you need a duvet cover set, also known as comforter cover sets, quilt cover sets, or doona cover sets. Basically, duvet is French for comforter, while quilt and doona are regional variations of the same. Doona is the most common term used in Australia, comforter in America, and duvet in the U.K. A duvet cover not only keeps you warm, it is a bed cover , usually quilted, with a washable pillowcase–like cover, that can be used in place of a bedspread. It can also be your blanket or comforter.

To be comfortable, it is important to use the right duvet based in the warmth it can provide. Duvets are classified as “light weight summer”. “spring/autumn weight ” or “winter weight” . The classification is based on its TOG or the thermal resistance of the fabric it is made of, measured using a Shirley Tog meter . To convert to SI units, a tog is equal to 0.1m2K/W. As reference, a summer, spring/autumn and winter duvet has 4.5, 9.0 to 10.5 and 12.0 to 13.5 togs respectively.
Doonas or comforters are available on line as well as off-line. It’s easy to search the internet for cheap duvets, discount duvets or duvets on sale. Most furnishing stores also carry various duvets for sale. In fact, with the correct sizes, the duvet (doona) cover can be used to protect your comforter, which is not as easy to clean as the duvet cover itself.
Duvets or doonas are not always the same as comforters. One features to distinguish a doona from a comforter is that a doona is made to have a detachable cover while a comforter has none. However, comforters do come in their own printed patterns. Duvets are available in cotton or silk or other fabrics. The eiderdown-filled duvet is still the best choice and in a quilted duvet, the stuffing is prevented from clumping together by the quilt stitches.
